Your gift to Under The Same Sun is more than a donation—it’s a lifeline, offering safety, education, care, and hope to students with albinism.

In parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, children with albinism are being hunted—simply for the way they look.
Albinism is a rare, non-contagious genetic condition that results in little or no pigment in the skin, hair, and eyes. It also causes low vision and extreme sensitivity to the sun.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, approximately 1 in 5,000 people is born with albinism. But due to widespread myths and deep-rooted stigma, people with albinism are often seen as cursed or less than human. Many believe their body parts bring wealth or good fortune.
The consequences are deadly.
Last year, 2-year-old Asimwe was kidnapped. Weeks later, her body was found—mutilated. She was only a toddler.
This heartbreaking loss is a brutal reminder that our work is far from over. We must keep fighting for justice, protection, and opportunity for every child with albinism.
Your gift today can be life-changing. It can be life-saving.
