DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT!
Thanks to a generous donor, all gifts will be matched until December 31st.
This Christmas, help save lives and empower students with albinism! Your gift to Under The Same Sun is more than a donation—it’s a lifeline, offering safety, education, care, and hope to students like Sundi.
Celebrating Sundi! Born into poverty and shunned because of her albinism, Sundi’s future once seemed uncertain. But with hard work and support, she has defied the odds. Sundi earned one of the top national science scores and is now heading to one of Tanzania’s leading medical schools to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor. Her journey shows what’s possible when children with albinism are given a chance.
Let’s stand with Sundi and keep the hope alive!
In Sub-Saharan Africa, approximately one in 5,000 people is born with albinism, a genetic condition resulting in a lack of pigment in the hair, skin, and eyes. Regrettably, albinism is gravely misunderstood in this region, with many perceiving it as a curse that devalues a person's humanity. Criminals target individuals with albinism for attacks, selling their body parts to witchdoctors who use them in the creation of good luck charms and potions. Just this year, 2 year old Asimwe was kidnapped and her body found weeks later with parts missing. It was a stark reminder of how important it is for us to continue our work.
