DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT!
All donations made now till Giving Tuesday are being matched!
Help save lives and empower people with albinism. Your contribution to Under the Same Sun not only saves lives but also champions the rights of people with albinism. It provides safety, education and opportunities to students like Mwigulu, empowering them to pursue their dreams and become their own best advocates!
Mwigulu (right) lost his arm in an attack when he was only 12. Now, not only is he a thriving student, he's using his voice to advocate for safety and support for all people with albinism.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, approximately one in 5,000 people is born with albinism, a genetic condition resulting in a lack of pigment in the hair, skin, and eyes. Regrettably, albinism is gravely misunderstood in this region, with many perceiving it as a curse that devalues a person's humanity. Criminals target individuals with albinism for attacks, selling their body parts to witchdoctors who use them in the creation of good luck charms and potions.
